Hi, I’m Daniel.

I'm a senior copy editor with five years at PitchBook Data, one of the world's leading fintech intelligence platforms—and nearly a decade of editorial experience overall.

I build things. I originated PitchBook's copy editor role from scratch, authored the company's AP-aligned style guide still in use across global teams today, and developed the brand voice standards that shaped everything from product UI to stadium signage for the Seattle Kraken and NY Islanders. Along the way, I led naming and scripting for proprietary AI tools, drove a 16% increase in organic search traffic through SEO-focused editorial strategy, and delivered content for international campaigns, executive communications, and high-profile sports and tech partnerships.

I hold a B.A. in Professional and Creative Writing from Central Washington University and an Intermediate Certificate in Editing from Poynter ACES—the professional organization I'm now an active member of.

What I care about most is the thing that never changes, regardless of format or industry: Does this sentence earn its place? I've applied that question to financial data blogs, global rebrand campaigns, chatbot scripts, event signage, and everything in between. I'm equally comfortable building an editorial process from nothing and parachuting into a high-volume content operation that needs a sharper eye and cleaner systems.

Outside of work, I'm playing guitar, cooking something new, volunteering around Seattle, or out on the water on my paddleboard. I have strong opinions about horror movies, vinyl records, and the Oxford comma.

Let's make something worth reading.
